Projects of interest

We are interested, primarily, in commercial fiction, including thrillers, mysteries, romance, women's fiction, erotica, and general fiction. We are also interested in both literary and young adult fiction.

In non-fiction, we are interested in current affairs, adventure, and biography. We are also open to reviewing other genres and topics, though we are not currently looking to represent non-fiction which falls into the scholarly genre.

We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts, however we seriously consider all submissions, including first time writers whose work we have requested.

We do not accept submissions for poetry, short stories or screenplays.

How to submit your work

For all submissions, it is essential that you send a query first. If, based on your query, we decide to take the opportunity to review a work of fiction, we will ask you to submit a synopsis, the first three chapters (no longer than 100 pages, we prefer Courier font, 12 pt. though Times New Roman is also acceptable, and please either use double spacing, or a standard 26 lines per page) and a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) via postal mail.

For non-fiction, you must also send a query first. If we request your material, then you will be asked to submit a formal proposal - which should include an outline of the material, sample material, an author bio and other published works, if any - and a SASE.

We do not respond to submissions that are not accompanied by a SASE. We will not return any material unless a SASE accompanies the submission. Do not send personal cheques, or currency. All self-addressed stamped envelopes must include stamps.

As stated above, we only accept queries via email in the first instance. However, we will not download attachments. We will respond to email queries within two weeks.

International submissions

We will try to respond to your email query within two weeks. If your project is of interest to us, then you may follow the submission guidelines stated above in order to mail your materials. Submission materials will not be returned to international locations, but the inclusion of a SASE will allow us to respond to your enquiries.

Because of the large volume of submissions that we receive, we will only respond to those that follow the above guidelines. Submissions which do not follow these standards will be recycled. Unsolicited manuscripts will not be read or returned.

Thank you for considering Tomasson-Knight for your literary representation.

Should we request a submission, all fiction will be processed through our Copenhagen office. Non-fiction submissions should be directed to our London office.
